Dear Family, Friends and friends of our family and friends,
Five years ago this month, Cate beat the odds and came home from the hospital. Her future was uncertain, but her survival was nothing short of miraculous. Despite a very bleak medical prognosis, she lived, and has moved on to talk, walk, sing and dance her way back into this world. We know that she beat the odds because she has had wonderful medical care, the support of family and friends, but more importantly she had an amazing number of people praying for her those first few months. We believe in the power of prayer – we have seen it’s results.
Yesterday, our family met with a Neuropsychologist at Children’s Hospital in Boston. Our goal was to learn more about how Cate’s brain works, and what we can do to help overcome the behavior challenges that seem to be getting in the way on her path to recovery. The doctor confirmed, with a voice that cracked with emotion, Cate IS a miracle and, based on the significant damage done to her brain, her progress is nothing short of amazing. However, no matter how hard she tried to make the meeting upbeat and positive, the prognosis is, once again, very bleak. The frontal lobes of Cate’s brain have been very badly damaged. As these lobes are the last to develop, and become increasingly more important in our lives, it will become harder and harder for Cate to filter the world around her and learn even simple things like socializing, playing with peers, and learning math.
So we find ourselves in the same spot we were 5 years ago, a very bleak medical diagnosis that our hearts refuse to believe. We have the medical team in place, same as last time, but we are once again asking for your prayers. In honor of the month she came home, we hope that you could take a few minute each day in August and say a little prayer for Cate. We ask that you please thank God for all the amazing things he has already done for her, but if possible, could he please send a little extra blessing to those ever important frontal lobes.
We ask that if you are comfortable with sending this along to other friends and family we may have missed, please do so… the more people praying in the month of August the better. Whatever you feel comfortable doing will mean the world to us.
Thank you and God Bless,
The Fleury Family

Of course you can count on us - we knew of the meeting on Friday and wondered how it all went. She is a little miracle and a fighter. We have forwarded info on to Lynn and David and will notify the friends and people from church who prayed for Cate after the incident for so long. She will be back on the daily prayer list at church. Prayer is powerful, we believe that. Love to you all - Dick and Ruth
that is the cutest picture ever tell Dave I know he does not like the mantel all cluttered up,but this one is a must : )
I'm sorry you didn't get the news you were hoping for today - but obviously Cate is a serious 'odds beater' !!! you know no matter what, Julia and Cate will continue to be best buddies!! call me tomorrow

Dave, Audra, Ben & Cate,
Lots of prayers coming to you from SW Oklahoma, our church family and friends. We know our God is a God of miracles and that in his presence there is peace. He is making something beautiful out of Cate's life.
We commit to praying for you in August and beyond.
Blessings,
Jill Peterson (Aunt Tanya's friend)
You can count on the McKney Family to be there for you. We will say a prayer for Cate and your family every day this month. As I have told you before - I believe Cate is amazing. She was in Matthews class this year and I was in awe. She knew everybodys name within days - she was more advanced than Matthew in many ways. Doctors don't know everything. You can count on us to be there for Cate and your family. Have a wonderful rest of the summer. Cate will be in our prayers. Love - Cathy McKney and family.
Cate will be in my daily thoughts and prayers and all of you too!
As a mother I must faithfully, patiently, lovingly and happily do my part- then wait for God to do his!
I truly believe in the power of prayer.
Please give Cate a GREAT BIG HUG for me!
GOD BLESS....Sandi
Dear Fleury Family,
As fellow parishoners at St. Thomas and friends, you have our full support and prayers. Your family is beautiful and Cate is always a bright bit of sunshine, no matter the weather. We have watched Cate and Ben grow up before eyes during mass!
Please know that my neice was not given a chance to live past childbirth and that she survived the first 24 hours astounded doctors.
Long story short, after being born at only 29 weeks with everything against her, she spent 3 months in the NICU; she came home and lives as a silly little 4 year old. The power of pray is so strong and amazing. Continue to send emails and reminders to everyone you know. No one will get sick of getting them. You are a strong family and are turning to the right source for strength. All our best, your friends,

My prayers are with Cate and I have great faith that again she will beat the odds. She is quite a miracle and I believe she will continue to make progress. We must remember to always have HOPE. She will be in my prayers and I have sent this to my family and friends for them to do the same. Tell Cate that I said "Hi" and give her a big hug for me.
Love,
Marian
